More on Gard Business Group

A recent article in Gannett newpapers prompted me to do a little research on the Gard Business Group, supposedly a consulting firm "helping businesses to be successful and to employ more people" according to Mark Graul, John Gard's spokesperson. After my research was concluded, I was left to believe that this business is no more real than George Costanza's charity -- The Human Fund: People Helping People.

Google search - empty
Better Business Bureau - never heard of it
Yellow Pages - nothing
No website, no phone number

I even tried guessing his website...I mean any business that wants to be successful in this day and age has to have a website, right? www.gardbusinessgroup.com - nothing, www.gardbusiness.com - nada, www.gardgroup.com - some other company. Come on Gard! Can't you at least try to make your business look legitimate?

So who are Gard's clients? How do they reach him? How does he reach them? Is this business just a front for some kind of money laundering scheme? Is this a business set up where his "clients," possibly just conservative issue groups, pay him money for performing no service at all just so he can pay himself a salary? Then he will be available to run again for Congress and donate this "income" to his campaign. Why is it that Gard can't just get a job? Is it because there is no market for reject politicians with no real world experience?

I really think someone with more investigative powers should look into this. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if that filthy excuse for a politician was using techniques developed by Karl Rove himself to unethically acquire money for his campaign. The fact that there is no legitimate reason to believe this company even exists, except on paper, just stinks....stinks just like a Republican. Moreover, if Gard is this successful in business world, how successful will he be in Congress??

It's funny you say this - I was searching for Gard Business Group and all I could find was your article on how you could not find it either! I have emailed the campaign looking for information on it... not holding my breath. I guess a fake business is better than saying "I have sat on my ass since I was off the public payroll for the last 3 years."

Is Gard's wife wealthy? I seem to remember hearing this at once point, but I can't find any information except for how much he's claimed to make with his bogus company.

She was at one time the Treasurer of the State of Wisconsin. Sounds like another career politician to me. Birds of a feather...

The Gard Business Group is also not registered as a corporation with the State of Wisconsin, according to DFI.
